Spiritual Practices

At Jesus Vegans, we do our very best to do spiritual practices every day. We understand that life gets busy, but believe these practices are important in growing closer to God and each other  

These practices include

  • Prayer: We believe that it is important to pray unceasingly, but there also times when we should pray together.  Thus, we try to pray at the start of the day, end of the day, at our meetings, and at meal times.

  • Meditation: we encourage our work exchange partners to set aside quiet times of the day when they hear from God and rest their minds.

  • Scripture Reading: We believe it is important to study the Bible because it is an important way in which Jesus/God speaks to His disciples.      

  • Devotions: We are currently studying various materials by Dr. Caroline Leaf.  She is a neuroscientist with a “passion is to help people see the power of the mind and the link between science and God as a tangible way of controlling their thoughts and emotions, learning how to think and learn and finding their sense of purpose in life.”

  • Emotional Health: We use a technique called the Immanuel Approach developed by Dr. Karl Lehman. This facilitates emotional healing through remembering a time when Jesus felt close and applying that experience(s) to traumatic memories. Back_Button.png
