It is a little-known fact that William Wilberforce, who is given credit for leading the movement which led to slavery being abolished in England, also lived in a community in London called Clapham. Championing the rights of animals, humans, and many other causes were done by Wilberforce and his friends most of whom were Christians. Together they shared meals, private and public worship services, family celebrations, and strategic planning so community members could become, together, more successful in their worthwhile endeavors to change society.
"The love of God was the very center of the group’s reason for being together and what became their legacy. From this love sprang a group that changed history."Richard Gathrow, from the article "William Wilberforce and His Circle of Friends."
We have a vision of the same type of community happening at Jesus Vegans, but we need your help to make that vision a reality.
"Without vision, the people will perish." Proverbs 29:18
The Jesus Vegans coordinating circle is in the process of developing guidelines, infrastructure, and a screening process for potential community members. This will make it easier for people who want to join us to know what they are joining and assuring a good fit. You can get an idea of the direction we are heading in by learning about our work exchange program.
